Our story
Ours began the way many marriages in Kerala do: two families, a proposal, and two people who had never met. Akash was in Sydney and Christina in Kochi, about nine thousand kilometres and half a working day apart, so the first hello was a text message. They kept texting for a year and a half, and by the time Akash's flight landed in Kochi in February 2026 he could hardly wait.
They met on 8 February 2026, at her home. For the rest of his twenty days in Kochi they sneaked away to see each other almost every day, which is how a year and a half of texting turned into something neither of them wanted to end. On 21 February the two families gathered to make it official; the photograph on this page is from that morning.
Since then it has been back to two time zones, a daily call, and a wedding to plan in between. On 26 October, at St. George's, Edappally, the long-distance part ends. Soon after, Christina makes the move to Sydney, and nobody has to sneak away to see anyone.
